$22-$26 per hour

Hours:

8:30 am - 4:00 pm weekdays (21 hours per week); weekends/evenings as needed for special events/programs

Position Objectives:

The Town of Smoky Lake is seeking an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills and organizational abilities to serve as the Community Development Coordinator. The Coordinator is a creative and enthusiastic individual responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing family and community programs and services

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and promote programs designed to enhance the quality of life and respond to the social needs of community residents.

Provide information, referrals, and support to enhance the strengths, skills, and abilities of individuals, families, and the community.

Facilitate groups and implement preventative programming for caregivers, families, and the community.

Assist in planning and facilitating community events (e.g., Canada Day, Family Day, Truth & Reconciliation Day. etc.).

Maintain close liaison with the Director of FCSS regarding activities and community needs.

Minimum Requirements:

Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Intervention Record Check are required.

Valid Driver's License with reliable transportation.

Desirable Training and Experience:

Preference for candidates with post-secondary education in social sciences, including certificate, diploma, and/or degree programs in Psychology, Sociology, Eductaion, Social Work, Human Ecology, Child and Youth Care, or Early Childhood Development.

A combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

Brain Story Certificate is an asset.

Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs.

First Aid and CPR certification are considered assets.

Please note that this position is dependent on grant funding and will continue as long as the Family Resource Network grant funding is available.
