Smoky Lake Museum is located south of the intersection of Highway 28 and Secondary Highway 855.The building used to be the Victoria School which dates back to one of the oldest school districts in the area. Among the many displays in the Museum are artifacts and antiques including farm machinery. The Pakan Ferry is situated in front of the Museum and was restored in 1999. More recent restorations have been added to preserve this unique treasure. The Smoky Lake and District Cultural Society volunteers put out a warm welcome to all visitors in the area and encourage everyone to tour the Museum when in town. In 1983, many hardworking volunteers collaborated and put together a History Book called "Our Legacy" – an excellent book of stories and pictures of the settlers in and around Smoky Lake. The book is now available on DVD. Hours Open Victoria Day to Labor Day Open Pumpkin Fair- 1st Saturday in October Saturdays 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Sundays 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Admission is by donation.
